I have been so relieved and satisfied to have found Oldtown electric. From the way they answer the phone and how the complete tasks, it felt very welcoming. They ate punctual, professional and go above and beyond! They even took my boxes for me! They came back to place light bulbs that I forgot to buy!! Definitely recommend!

Old Town Electric did a fabulous job running power 400 feet from the service to our barn, installing a subpanel, 30 overhead lights in our covered arena and barn, light switches and plugs throughout, and all the conduit. They were customer service oriented, professional, respectful, thorough, and the price was just right. Old Town Electric will be the first electricians I call in the future!! Well done! Tom Taylor

I am completely happy with Old Town Electric's service. Not only did they provide a competitive quote for my EV charger installation, they walked me through the app setup and explained the work they did on the panel. They arrived on time for their appointment and quickly completed the work. I will most definitely reach out to them for other projects it the future.

It’s been about a month now since we had OldTown install Gemstone Lights on the front of the house. I wanted to wait a bit to give an honest review and we could not be happier with their communication, quality of install and the Gemstone light product. I would highly recommend them for permanent lighting in the future. We plan to use them for our next projects. Thank you Old Town Electric!!!

We found them to be very professional they understood what we wanted to accomplish they provided useful information and they completed the job within a reasonable time frame. We would highly recommend them.

    Installation of camera with transformer.

Not picture but installation of fan with heater and light in bathroom.

Having a carport/storage shed(16'X24') I needed to have the power line raised from pole to house(County Code).

They were prompt on the day of work. They noticed somethings that needed to be brought up to code. They explained what needed to be done, the way they were going to do it and the cost.

I noticed the pictures are not in order. SMUD disconnecting the power line, the electrician installing the raiser, SMUD connecting the power line to utility box.

What was to be expected was the wait for SMUD, the county and SMUD. In this kind of work you are on their schedule and not the other way around.

The electricians did their work on a timely basis.

I continue to call them for an electrical work and ethernet connection.

In the process of having a carport and storage shed with power build in backyard.

County inspector after passing inspection on footing and forms suggested that I have a ground rebar installed.

I contacted OldTown Electric Inc. who I had previously made arrangements to run a power line along with two cables for security cameras an Ethernet line to the storage shed part of the structure.

They were prompt, professional and courteous.

EV Charger Installation Services in Roseville

Most Roseville homes built before 2015 don’t have a 240V circuit near the garage — but that’s a straightforward installation for our team. We assess your panel capacity, run the dedicated circuit, install the charger, and handle all paperwork. Free on-site estimates, no pressure, no obligation.

EV Charger Installation Options for Roseville Homeowners

Here’s what a charger installation project looks like with Old Town Electric — and every part of it handled under one roof, from panel assessment to final sign-off.

Level 2 Home EV Charger Installation (Hardwired)

A hardwired Level 2 charger (240V, 40–50A circuit) is the gold standard for home EV charging — adding 25–35 miles of range per hour versus 4–5 miles on a standard 120V outlet. We install chargers flush-mounted to your garage wall, route wiring through the attic or wall cavity where possible to keep things clean, and land the dedicated circuit directly in your main panel. Compatible with Tesla, Ford, GM, Hyundai, Rivian, and every major EV brand. As part of our EV charger installation service, we assess whether your current panel supports the load before we ever give you a quote.

Interested in a hardwired Level 2 install? Call (916) 307-0990 or → get a free estimate.

    NEMA 14-50 Outlet Installation

Prefer to keep charger flexibility — or your EV came with a portable EVSE that plugs into a 14-50? We install the dedicated 50A, 240V outlet in your garage so you’re ready to plug in the day the car arrives. Same permit process, same clean installation, just a receptacle instead of a hardwired unit. This is also the right path if you’re not yet sure which charger brand you want or plan to upgrade vehicles in the next few years.

    Panel Capacity Assessment & Upgrade

Adding a 40–50A EV circuit to an already-loaded 100-amp panel isn’t always straightforward. Before we pull a permit, we audit your panel’s available capacity and flag any concerns upfront — no surprises mid-job. If your home needs a panel upgrade in Roseville before the EV circuit can be safely added, we handle that too so you’re dealing with one contractor, one project, one invoice.

Garage Sub-Panel for EV + Workshop Circuits

If your garage is already running at capacity with tools, lights, and a fridge — or you want room to add circuits in the future — a dedicated garage sub-panel is the cleanest solution. We size the sub-panel for your current EV load plus future expansion, run a single large feeder from the main panel, and give you a clean, organized circuit center in the garage. It costs more upfront than a single circuit, but it’s the last electrical job you’ll need out there for years.

Get Your Free EV Charger Estimate in Roseville

Most installs are quoted same-week. Call (916) 307-0990 or → request your free on-site estimate — we’ll come to your Roseville home, assess the panel and garage layout, and give you a written quote on the spot.

Why Roseville Homeowners Choose Old Town Electric for EV Charger Installation

    • We pull the City of Roseville permit — every time. No skipping inspections, no workarounds. A permitted EV charger matters for your homeowner’s insurance and for resale. We handle all permit paperwork in-house and schedule the inspection so you don’t have to.
    • Honest panel assessment before we quote. We tell you upfront if your panel can handle the load — or if an upgrade is needed — before any money changes hands. No bait-and-switch pricing once we’re on-site.
    • Clean installations, not just functional ones. Conduit routed through walls, not surface-mounted across the garage ceiling. Wiring that looks intentional. It matters for resale value and it’s how we work.
    • SMUD rebate guidance included. Roseville is in SMUD territory, and SMUD currently offers rebates on qualifying Level 2 charger installations. We’ll walk you through what applies to your project so you’re not leaving money on the table.
    • One electrician, start to finish. The same person who scopes your job is the one running your wire. No sub-contractors, no crews you’ve never met. You know who’s in your home.

    Serving Roseville and Nearby Communities

We install EV chargers throughout the greater Roseville area, including Rocklin, Granite Bay, Lincoln, Loomis, and Sacramento. If you’re just outside Roseville, give us a call — we’re likely in your neighborhood already.

Start Your Roseville EV Charger Installation — Free Estimate, No Obligation

We’ll come to your home, check your panel and garage setup, and give you a detailed written estimate — no charge, no pressure, and no obligation to move forward. Most projects in Roseville book within 2–3 weeks of the estimate, so the sooner you call, the sooner your car is charging the right way.

    Our Recent Projects

Yes. The City of Roseville requires an electrical permit for any new 240V circuit installation, including EV chargers. The permit triggers an inspection by a city electrical inspector who verifies the work meets the NEC and California Electrical Code. We pull every permit in-house — it's included in our quote, not added as a surprise line item later. A permitted install also protects you with your homeowner's insurance carrier.

Most standard Level 2 EV charger installations in Roseville run between $400 and $900 for labor, permit, and inspection — assuming the main panel is already 200A and the garage is close to the panel. If your home needs a panel upgrade first, that adds cost. A NEMA 14-50 outlet install is generally at the lower end of that range; a hardwired 50A circuit with a charger provided by you is in the middle; and a full sub-panel build-out is toward the top. The best way to know your actual number is a free on-site estimate.

A straightforward Level 2 install — existing 200A panel, garage close to the panel, no wall fishing required — is typically a half-day job (3–4 hours). More complex runs through finished walls or sub-panel installs may take a full day. The permit inspection is usually scheduled within a week of the install and takes about 30 minutes. We'll give you a realistic timeline when we scope the job.

Most Roseville homes built after 1990 have 200-amp service, which can typically support a 40–50A EV circuit without issue. Homes with 100-amp panels — common in older Roseville neighborhoods — often need an upgrade before adding an EV charger. We assess available panel capacity as part of every site visit and tell you exactly what you're working with before any work begins.
