Thank you,

Installation of camera with transformer.
Not picture but installation of fan with heater and light in bathroom.
Having a carport/storage shed(16'X24') I needed to have the power line raised from pole to house(County Code).
They were prompt on the day of work. They noticed somethings that needed to be brought up to code. They explained what needed to be done, the way they were going to do it and the cost.
I noticed the pictures are not in order. SMUD disconnecting the power line, the electrician installing the raiser, SMUD connecting the power line to utility box.
What was to be expected was the wait for SMUD, the county and SMUD. In this kind of work you are on their schedule and not the other way around.
The electricians did their work on a timely basis.
I continue to call them for an electrical work and ethernet connection.
County inspector after passing inspection on footing and forms suggested that I have a ground rebar installed.
I contacted OldTown Electric Inc. who I had previously made arrangements to run a power line along with two cables for security cameras an Ethernet line to the storage shed part of the structure.
They were prompt, professional and courteous.
EV Charging Station Installation
Here’s everything we handle for Sacramento EV owners — one licensed contractor from assessment to final inspection.
Level 2 Home EV Charger Installation in Sacramento
A Level 2 charger (240V) is the gold standard for home EV charging — it delivers a full charge overnight, compared to days with a standard 120V outlet. Our licensed electricians assess your panel, run a dedicated circuit, and mount your charger in the optimal location for your garage or driveway. We handle the permit and schedule the inspection so you don’t have to think about it.

Tesla Wall Connector Installation in Sacramento
Tesla Wall Connectors deliver up to 44 miles of range per hour of charge — far faster than any standard outlet. We install all Tesla Wall Connector models (Gen 2 and Gen 3) in residential garages, driveways, and commercial parking areas. Every install includes proper load calculation, 240V circuit wiring, and smart charger configuration so it syncs with your Tesla app right out of the gate.
We’re currently offering $50 OFF Tesla Wall Charger installation — call (916) 307-0990 to book.
Commercial EV Charging Station Installation
Businesses across Sacramento are adding EV charging to attract employees, customers, and tenants who drive electric. Whether you need two stations in a surface lot or a multi-port setup across a commercial parking structure, we design and install a reliable, code-compliant system that scales with your fleet or customer demand. We handle all permitting and utility coordination through SMUD or PG&E.
Electrical Panel Upgrades for EV Charging
Many Sacramento homes — especially those built in the 1960s through 1990s — are running 100-amp panels that weren’t designed with EV charging in mind. Before your charger install, we assess your electrical capacity and, if needed, upgrade your panel to 200 amps so your home handles EV charging alongside your other electrical loads without tripping breakers or creating fire risk. Panel upgrades also future-proof your home for additional EVs, solar, and battery storage.
Not sure if your panel needs an upgrade? Request a free assessment.
Subpanel Installation for Detached Garages
If your charger needs to go in a detached garage, workshop, or ADU, we install a subpanel to safely deliver 240V power to that structure. This is the clean, code-compliant solution — no extension cords, no workarounds, no fire hazard. Most Sacramento detached garage subpanel installs are completed in one day.
SMUD & PG&E EV Charger Rebate Assistance
Sacramento homeowners and businesses may qualify for rebates through SMUD’s EV charger incentive programs or PG&E’s Electric Program Investment Charge (EPIC) offerings — but the rebate process involves documentation, eligibility requirements, and timing that can get complicated fast. We’ve navigated these programs many times. Our team assesses your eligibility, ensures your installation meets program requirements, and helps you pull together the documentation you need to claim every dollar of available incentive. Don’t leave rebate money on the table — ask us about your options when you schedule your estimate.
EV Charger Troubleshooting & Repairs
Existing charger throwing errors, tripping your breaker, or just not performing the way it should? We diagnose and repair EV charging systems for all major brands — not just Tesla. Most issues come down to wiring faults, GFCI trips, or load problems we can identify and fix in a single visit.

Why Sacramento Homeowners Choose OldTown Electric for EV Charger Installation
- Licensed, Insured & Local. CA Lic. #1099728. We’re Sacramento-based, not a national franchise — which means we know local permit offices, SMUD service territory quirks, and the electrical challenges specific to Sacramento’s housing stock.
- Permits Are Our Problem, Not Yours. Every EV charger installation we complete is permitted and inspected. We pull the permit, we schedule the inspection, and we make sure the work passes. No unpermitted work, no liability left on your property.
- Flat-Rate Pricing — No Hourly Surprises. We price by the job, not by the hour. You’ll get a written estimate before we touch a wire — and that number won’t change unless the scope changes. 200+ Sacramento customers have trusted that promise.
- One Crew, Start to Finish. The electricians who assess your home are the same ones who do the install. No subcontracting, no handoffs, no “I wasn’t the one who quoted that.” You get a single point of contact from consultation through inspection sign-off.
- Done in a Day. Most residential EV charger installs are completed in a single visit. We respect your time, show up when we say we will, and clean up when we’re done.
- 4.9 Stars — 165+ Reviews. Our reputation is built on repeat customers and referrals. If something isn’t right, we make it right — that’s not a marketing line, it’s how we’ve stayed in business.

Our Recent Projects
Most residential Level 2 EV charger installations in Sacramento run between $500 and $1,200 all-in — including the dedicated circuit, permit, and installation labor. If your panel needs an upgrade first (common in older Sacramento homes with 100-amp service), that adds $1,500–$3,500 depending on panel size and complexity. Tesla Wall Connector installs typically fall in the $400–$900 range for labor, plus the cost of the unit if you haven't already purchased one. Commercial multi-station installs vary widely by scope. The best way to know your exact number is a free on-site estimate — call (916) 307-0990 or → request yours here.
Yes — in the City of Sacramento and unincorporated Sacramento County, a permit is required for EV charger installations that involve a new dedicated circuit (which is essentially every Level 2 install). Skipping the permit is a real risk: it can void your homeowner's insurance, complicate a future home sale, and create liability if something goes wrong. We pull the permit for every job we do — it's included in your quote, not an add-on.
For a standard residential Level 2 installation where your panel already has capacity, plan on 2–4 hours. If we're running conduit through a finished garage, installing a subpanel for a detached structure, or doing a panel upgrade at the same time, the job can take a full day. We'll give you a realistic time estimate when we assess your home — no vague "it depends" answers.
Level 1 uses a standard 120V outlet and adds roughly 3–5 miles of range per hour — fine for plug-in hybrids or very low daily mileage, but painfully slow for most EV owners. Level 2 uses a 240V dedicated circuit (same as your dryer) and adds 15–30 miles of range per hour, delivering a full charge overnight. For most Sacramento households driving 30–60 miles a day, Level 2 is the practical choice. We install both, but we'll tell you honestly which one makes sense for your situation.
Possibly yes. SMUD customers in Sacramento may qualify for EV charger rebates through SMUD's residential and commercial incentive programs. PG&E customers may have access to separate program offerings depending on their service area. Eligibility depends on your utility, the charger model, and installation compliance. We assess rebate eligibility as part of every consultation and help you navigate the process — so you're not leaving money on the table. Ask us about current programs when you call (916) 307-0990 or → request your estimate.
Yes. OldTown Electric Inc. holds CA Contractor License #1099728 and carries full liability insurance and workers' compensation. All EV charger installations are performed by licensed electricians — not helpers or trainees — in full compliance with California's NEC 2023 electrical code and Sacramento's local permit requirements. You can verify our license at the CSLB website any time.
