Installation of camera with transformer.
Not picture but installation of fan with heater and light in bathroom.
Having a carport/storage shed(16'X24') I needed to have the power line raised from pole to house(County Code).
They were prompt on the day of work. They noticed somethings that needed to be brought up to code. They explained what needed to be done, the way they were going to do it and the cost.
I noticed the pictures are not in order. SMUD disconnecting the power line, the electrician installing the raiser, SMUD connecting the power line to utility box.
What was to be expected was the wait for SMUD, the county and SMUD. In this kind of work you are on their schedule and not the other way around.
The electricians did their work on a timely basis.
I continue to call them for an electrical work and ethernet connection.
County inspector after passing inspection on footing and forms suggested that I have a ground rebar installed.
I contacted OldTown Electric Inc. who I had previously made arrangements to run a power line along with two cables for security cameras an Ethernet line to the storage shed part of the structure.
They were prompt, professional and courteous.
Signs You May Need a Panel Upgrade
Electrical panels don’t usually fail suddenly — they show warning signs first.
You may need a panel upgrade if:
Breakers trip frequently
Lights dim when large appliances start
Your panel is completely full with no space for new circuits
You’re adding EV charging or a hot tub
Your panel is more than 25–30 years old
You notice heat, corrosion, or buzzing from the panel
You’re planning a major remodel or addition
In Citrus Heights homes with aging infrastructure, these issues are common — and correctable.
Why Many Citrus Heights Homes Require Electrical Panel Upgrades
When much of Citrus Heights was developed, electrical demand looked very different. Homes weren’t running:
Level 2 EV chargers
High-efficiency HVAC systems
Induction cooktops
Home offices with multiple devices
Smart home systems
Pool equipment and exterior lighting systems
A 100-amp system that once worked fine may now operate near maximum capacity daily. That constant strain increases breaker wear, overheating risk, and nuisance tripping.
Upgrading your electrical panel increases available capacity, stabilizes performance, and reduces long-term safety risks.

What to Expect During a Panel Upgrade
A main panel upgrade involves more than swapping a box.
Our process typically includes:
Electrical system evaluation
Load calculation and amperage determination
Removal of outdated equipment
Installation of new breaker panel
Reconnection and organization of circuits
Grounding and bonding verification
Final safety testing
Most residential panel upgrades are completed within one day, depending on complexity.
Panel Upgrades & EV Charger Installation
Many Citrus Heights homeowners consider panel upgrades when installing a Level 2 EV charger.
EV chargers require sustained electrical load. In homes with limited capacity, adding a charger without upgrading the panel can lead to:
Breaker tripping
Overloaded circuits
Reduced system lifespan
Safety concerns
If you’re planning EV charging, we evaluate your current system and recommend the safest long-term solution.
Code Compliance & Electrical Safety
Electrical panel upgrades must meet California electrical code requirements. Major upgrades often require permitting and inspection.
Old Town Electric ensures:
Code-compliant installations
Proper breaker sizing
Correct grounding and bonding
Inspection-ready workmanship
Clean, organized wiring
We build systems designed to pass inspection and perform reliably for years.
Benefits of Upgrading Your Electrical Panel
A properly upgraded panel provides:
Increased electrical capacity
Reduced risk of overload
Improved breaker reliability
Support for future upgrades
Increased home value
Greater long-term safety
For many homeowners, a panel upgrade is one of the most important infrastructure improvements they can make.
